I recently succeeded in putting my Sudoku Solver iPhone app on the Apple App Store, so if anyone’s interested you can find it just by searching for ‘Vaughan Harper’ in the App Store app on an iPhone. It does include the capability to solve Sudoku puzzles ‘with a twist’ (where there is a ‘twist’ of nine shaded squares which must also contain the numbers one to nine), and it will also tell you if a particular puzzle has multiple solutions. In reality I can’t see many people wanting to use it – it’s not the only Sudoku solver out there, and what’s the fun in using an app to solve a Sudoku puzzle anyway? – but I enjoyed writing it and I was curious as to what the whole process of writing and publishing an iOS app was like. There are lots of improvements that could be made – for example the user interface is pretty unexciting – so if I have time on my hands I know what I could be doing. I’ve attached some screenshots below…
