This is my latest MythTV challenge – which I’m still struggling with. When I connect my Ubuntu 16.04 MythTV system to a TV via a Marantz receiver, intermittently it looks like this:

 
If anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing

My Mythbuntu system recently failed to boot up, and instead displayed this error message:
Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:
Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
– Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)

I recently installed MythTV using the Mythbuntu 16.04 distribution. All went well until I tried to use MythWeb, where the web browser displayed this error:
